It’s Up To You To Keep Your Goals on Track
Even though you’d rather sit back on the couch and put your feet up.
This is a piece written out of necessity.
It probably won’t be great; it definitely won’t be the best article you’ve read all day but it may be just the kick up the ass you need the next time you feel like slacking off.
That Shit Ain’t Gonna Fly
As I sit down to write this my motivation levels are idling on zero, basically, I can’t be fucked creating a new article. But I’m gonna do it anyway.
Over the past few days, I’ve been preparing for 2021; setting goals, formulating plans and shifting my mindset in order to make the best of the months to come.
And it’s been fun, not to mention highly motivating. But on top of that, it’s also been a challenge.
Like many, I too used the holiday period as an excuse to slack off.
Overeating, binge drinking and the neglection of exercise were all justified by the words, “Ah, fuck it, sure it’s Christmas.”
But that shit ain't gonna fly anymore.
One of my ‘New Year’s resolutions’ or goals for the year is to create more content, mainly in the form of writing — either here on Medium or on my blog, Bloodyknuckle.org.
And for the past few day’s I’ve been keeping on track with that, mainly posting on Medium but also writing emails and social media posts.
However, today was the day when I encountered my first push back.
Fight Back, That’s All It Takes
I’ve had quite a busy day, though it has been productive and I’ve accomplished a lot — which I’m quite proud of.
But as a result of being constantly on the go, when it came time to write, as I had pencilled into my diary, I just could not be bothered.
All I wanted to do was put my feet up and relax with a glass/bottle of wine.
